Driving with Sheprd (leave your own car at home)

We provide our Drivers with Land Rover SUVs to drive during their shifts and will also assist in obtaining 7D School Pupil Transportation Certificates, which is required to drive students in our vehicles.

We’re currently operating around Newton, MA so you’ll need to be able to get there for each shift.

Abner Abner Abner is a 37-year retired veteran of the Boston Public School System where he served as classroom teacher, Dean of Discipline, and head basketball coach and rewarded Coach of the Year on two occasions. He matriculated at Boston College graduating with a degree in Secondary Urban Education. Abner is the father of two accomplished children. After retiring from the BPS, Abner spent time coaching various sports at the Dexter School in Brookline. As a parent and a coach, Abner witnessed firsthand the demands placed on today’s modern family. “Sheprd is helping to provide a reasonable transportation alternative that addresses family transportation needs. I’m happy to be a part of a business that supports families.”
Adgirene Adgirene My name is Adgirene Overbea and I am a mother of three children ages 27, 18 and 9. I grew up here in Boston Massachusetts but was born in St. Louis Missouri. I have been transporting children for about 15 years, I love what I do sometimes it can be challenging but I do it for the kids. I have driven for different companies, but I must say it's only my second day and I am in love with Sheprd:) Thanks for bringing me on board!
Anthony Anthony I am from Brunswick, Georgia and have been living in Boston for 35 years. I have four kids, am a professional sous chef when I am not driving for Sheprd, and coach football. I enjoy fishing in my spare time and love working with the inner-city kids. I like driving with Sheprd because they are a new company and I want to help the company grow!
Basil Basil Basil retired in 2017 after 42 years in law enforcement, 37 of which were as a Boston Police Officer. For twenty-three of these years as a Youth Service Officer, he taught the “Gang Resistance Education and Training (GREAT) curriculum in parochial and public schools to grades 3 thru 8. The program teaches such subjects as goal setting and conflict resolution. The GREAT program is a federally funded program taught throughout the nation and Central America; in 2004 he became a national trainer of the GREAT Program. As a national trainer, Mr. Buchanan trained and certified police officers and deputy sheriffs to teach the program in their jurisdictions. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice in 1975 from Northeastern University and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University in 2005. He is excited to continue to play a positive role in the lives of young people.
Bruce Bruce I was born in Massachusetts and have 40 years of driving experience. I really enjoy working in a profession where I can help people, and I pride myself on always providing a safe, reliable, prompt, and courteous driving experience for my customers. As a parent with 5 children, I have experienced the difficulty of getting children to and from their many activities. I'm excited about the role I now have in giving parents a great service for their children while being part of the future of family transportation. I joined Sheprd because I wanted to work for a company whose mission I firmly believe in.
Christine Christine Christine is excited to join Sheprd and brings a lot of enthusiasm about the program and the services being offered to parents for reliable, safe, and efficient transportation for their children. Christine is a retired Massachusetts State Police Captain serving 25 years on the State Police. She has three children and knows the stress of working full time and trying to arrange timely, reliable and worry free pick ups for your kids. Christine looks forward to greeting your children and transporting them safely to their next stop.
Faustinus Faustinus My name is Faustinus Yotte. I am originally from St. Lucia in the Caribbean. I moved to Boston in 1989 where I started my career in the service industry. Since then, I have moved into transportation where I have many years of experience driving children. The Sheprd team is really helpful and makes the driving experience enjoyable.
Frank Frank My name is Frank; I am the father of four children, three in college and one finishing the 12th grade and well on his way. As far back as I can remember I’ve loved working with children. My family has been teaching in Boston for five generations, myself having 26 years of teaching experience, and six years transporting children as a 7D driver. I love being part of the Sheprd team.
Josh Josh I was born in Boston Massachusetts. I'm 25 years old, currently a college student, and have 9 years of safe driving experience. I started working as a camp counselor when I was 14 years old and have worked with kids ever since. I started working for the Boston Public Schools Transportation Department at the age of 19. I’m proud to have adjusted bus stops to increase student safety, solved driver route issues, and built relationships with school staff, bus drivers, and parents. I've also managed 350 bus monitors to ensure that all student with I.E.P.s received a bus monitor to and from school. I’m excited to joined the Sheprd team and look forward to working with children, families, and school coordinators on a daily basis.
Karen Karen My name is Karen Baldassare and I have been transporting special needs young adults for 11 years. My training with The National Safety Council includes special van driver training, CPR/First Aid and sensitivity training. I graduated from Berklee College of Music and Lesley University, and have also enjoyed a career in music education and composition.
Mayelin Mayelin My name is Mayelin Vicente. I am originally from the Dominican Republic, but I have been living in the United States for ten years, and living in Massachusetts for more than five.  I am the mother of two girls, and a professional makeup artist. I decided to become a 7D Driver two years ago because I absolutely love working with children, and take pride in keeping them safe when traveling with me. I decided to work for Sheprd because I felt confident that they were different than other companies and it felt like I was becoming part of their family.
Nick Nick Nick is a Boston-native and graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont. Growing up between Foxboro and Newton and playing for several baseball and hockey teams meant transportation was a part of life for the whole family. After working in venture capital and investment banking Nick founded Sheprd to address everything that is challenging about organizing family logistics - increasing access to schools, clubs, and sports for students while relieving stress for families
